If you are a New Zealand registered electrical worker who has been out of the country for a few years, your registration is still valid (you only need to get it once).
However you will need to get a practising licence and renew this licence every two years.
You will need to complete a Competence Programme within the specified timeframe to support your application for a practising licence. Timeframes differ depending on the class of electrical licence you hold.
For more information, see Competence Programmes.
If you are a New Zealand registered electrical worker and you want to work overseas, you need to check the requirements of the electrical authority in the country you intend to work in.
