AS/NZS 3017:2007 – Electrical Installations – Verification Guidelines
AS/NZS 3017 sets out the common test and inspection methods required to verify that a low voltage, MEN electrical installation complies with safety requirements for the prevention of fire, or a person or livestock sustaining an electric shock. It can be used to satisfy Periodic Verification requirements stipulated in regulation 74 of the Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010 and AS/NZS 3019:2007 when reconnecting a power supply after a period of six months.
As a standard it contains a lot more than might meet the eye. It is a helpful and concise guide that all electrical workers should keep at hand containing excellent checklists for visual inspection and testing that can be used in conjunction with AS/NZS3000:2007. It is available for free download for licensed electrical workers from the Board’s portal.
