Digital licence cards are coming in September
From 1 September 2024, we will start rolling out digital licence cards to electrical workers.
From 1 September, we will stop issuing physical licence cards. If you have a plastic ID card, you can continue using this as long as your licence remains active and the card reflects your current registration classes.
Licenced electrical workers will be able to download their digital licence straight from the electrical worker (EW) portal. Digital licences can be printed, or saved to your computer or phone.
Your new digital licence will be in PDF format and will show your photo and details. It will also include a QR code, which others can scan to confirm your status on the public register.
For now, you don’t need to do anything to prepare for this changeover. We will share more information when it comes available on the Licence ID page.
