Electrical Workers Online Customer Survey
Thank you again to those that took the time to participate in our online survey last year. We have now had the opportunity to review the survey results, feedback, and suggestions for improvement submitted.
The survey questions focused on some key areas, including satisfaction with the application and relicensing process, the usefulness of information and guidance materials on the website, experiences in dealing with the EWRB team, and satisfaction with the efficiency and effectiveness of EWRB processes.
It was positive to see that the industry is satisfied with the delivery of key services of the team and there were some good suggestions for us to consider for our future work.
Registration and relicensing
The feedback we received on the registration and relicensing processes was positive. For those electrical workers seeking registration for the first time the process can be challenging as it is their first interaction with the team. Survey suggestions included making the registration and relicensing process easier, particularly regarding helping applicants to know what information to provide with their application.
Since this survey, we have introduced the new Electrical Workers Occupational Licensing Platform (the Platform), which went live on 18 October 2021.
The Platform allows electrical workers to review their applications online before submitting them. You can also upload required documents for your application online.
To make using the new platform easier, and assist you in resolving issues, we have up-to-date FAQs available on our website.
We also have a step-by-step online guide to help you navigate the new portal. The guide includes information you may need before starting your application.
Guide to the EWRB Practitioner Portal for Licensing
For those of you that have not logged into or used the new platform yet, you may want to familiarise yourself with our FAQs and online guide.
Further to this, we will be publishing an article on the new Online Licensing Platform in the February 2022 edition of the Electron, issue #112.
Information and guidance materials
We received some suggestions about making it easier to navigate the website to find the information and resources you need.
The survey also generated some suggestions for topics to be included in the Electron that may be of interest to the industry, which we will look to explore further in future editions.
Some suggestions included:
- Information on new technologies, such as electric vehicles (EV), and solar and photovoltaic (PV) systems
- Information on training courses, seminars, and providers
- Updates on changes to Standard and regulations
- Practical examples of best practice when applying Standards in the field
- Common safety issues that arise in the workplace and on job
Remember, you can locate information about best practice guidelines and safe working practices on the Board’s website, through the Toolbox.
We will continue to use the feedback from this survey to help with the future work that we do, and to improve key services for electrical workers.
If you would like to submit feedback to the Board, you can do so by completing our online enquiry form.
