Prosecution - EWRB v David McLennan
On 17 October 2023, David Ewen McLennan was sentenced on one charge of performing unauthorised prescribed electrical work. In 2022, Mr McLennan completed prescribed electrical work at his rural property. During a planned power outage, he disconnected the fuses of a network pillar from the main power network and moved both the pillar and the electric lines. Mr McLennan did not hold registration as an electrical worker at the time.
Mr McLennan was fined $3,900. He was also required to pay court costs and solicitor’s costs. 90 percent of the fine will be paid to the Board.
