Prosecution: EWRB v Imran Ali (aka Anton Tarry)

On 22 February 2023, Imran Ali (aka Anton Tarry) was sentenced on one charge of performing unauthorised prescribed electrical work. In 2020, Mr Ali completed prescribed electrical work at a residential property in Hamilton, which consisted of disconnecting old lights and wiring in around 45 new LED lights. Mr Ali did not hold registration as an electrical worker at the time.

Mr Ali was sentenced to a fine of $2,000, along with Court and solicitor’s costs.
