Serene bathroom heaters — urgent safety recall
Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) still have an active recall notice for the Serene S2068 bathroom heater and encourage electrical workers to continue to look out for them.
Electrical workers have already contributed to ensuring that approximately 16,000 of these heaters have been removed from homes so far, and we are very grateful for your efforts.
With 19 known fires related to these heaters, they pose a significant risk of people being seriously harmed and property being damaged.
Although many units have already been returned, we know that there are still many heaters in the community. We’re asking for help to remove the risk before winter arrives and the risk increases. This could include checking for and alerting homeowners to the presence of these heaters when completing inspections.
