Summary:
The Board found that the Respondent had carried out prescribed electrical work in a negligent manner when he failed to seal holes in a switchboard and when he failed to identify the issue by way of a visual inspection. The Board also decided that the Respondent had provided a false or misleading return when he certified the work as safe and lawful when it was not.
The Respondent was fined $500 and ordered to pay costs of $250. The fine and costs were reduced on the basis that the Respondent accepted that he had committed the offences, and the matter was dealt with on the basis of an Agreed Statement of Facts.
