  • Competence programme for electrical workers

    As a licensed electrical worker, you must complete a Competence Programme to refresh your knowledge and assess your competence every 2 years. You must do this before you can renew your Practising Licence.

  • Safety training

    You must complete Safety Training within 3 months of being issued a Limited Certificate or Trainee Limited Certificate.

  • Exams and practical assessments

    Courses and practical assessments are carried out by approved training providers throughout New Zealand.

  • Find a training provider

    There are also Board approved Competence Programme providers throughout New Zealand.     You can apply to become an approved competence programme provider and run competence programmes for registered electrical workers across New Zealand.
